PostSubject: How to use this section properly and who can?   Thu Apr 16, 2009 1:24 pm

Finally.... At last...... Hurray!!! I can hear some of you yelling from here.... Yes folks, that's the section most of you have been awaiting for so long.

Soooooo..... How does this work?

Well that's easy. Some of you (not all of you though, read more...) have the possibility to post their own page and write about your characters' background. DO NOT REPLY THIS ARTICLE. Rather, go back in the previous section, click on 'Post New' and there you go... The Title of your section shall be one that englobes all of your characters: 'The House of .........' for Nobles, 'the Clergy of ...............' for Clerics, 'the ............... squad' for Knights ... are all good examples but you can think on anything else. Usually, the name filling the blank is the last name of your main character.

There are three requirements for you to be able to write your characters' background:

1 - You have to be a member of this forum, that is you have to create a log in and a password.

2 - You have to have passed the Holy Test of the Equilibrium in order to become a Sir / Damsel. Most of our new recruits fail before they reach this rank, or leave, or are kicked out, our selection being... well... 'selective' indeed... Once you have reached this status, you are considered as a 'strong member' and can let us know of your characters' stories.

3 - As the article 'rule of roleplay' implies in the section 'CODES AND RULES', this guild already has its Lore, its gods, and its culture. You are free to create your own background as you wish but here are two things you should be aware of. 1 - Stick with the World of Guild Wars and Camelot as much as possible. If you come from Middle Earth, Dune, or Harry potter's World or any world, as rich as it might be, that you create, what will happen is that nobody will give a shit and go like: "ok.... that's nice but we have already too much to know about the guidl's lore and gods itself'. Be creative, be specific, but concentrate more on the link from your characters past to this guild. Try to find the correct balance between being creative and being over-specific, because that often equals 'boring', sadly... 2 - At the very top of your own page, begin by presenting yourself as a player, your centers of interests, your ID, anything you want to share... Then always begin with your most important character. Also, if you've just created a new character, don't rush things. Take time to play with it a little and think on its past.

LASTLY, AND THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT COMMENT: DO NOT IMPOSE YOUR BACKGROUND TO OTHERS. THIS SECTION IS FOR PEPOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT OTHERS FIRST, NOT A DISPLAY OF EGO. IT IS FOR CURIOSITY MEANS, NOT FORCE KNOWLEDGE. IF PEOPLE WANT TO READ, GOOD, IF NOT, THAT IS THEIR CHOICE.

Thank you.
