| Subject: WHY SUCH A SOCIETY MODEL ? Sat Dec 20, 2008 7:15 pm | |
| First of all, Feudalism completely fits the role playing concept of this guild. As a feudal society, we try to be realistic as we copycat this Medieval system.
Now of course, we are not in the Middle-Ages any more. Limitations are due... At the difference of our ancestors, The Keepers of the Equilibrium welcome any:
- Gender - Ethnicity - Sexuality - Faith - Political view
As long as you keep your own views discreet and don't impose them on the guild, you are fine.
Now, all the other aspects of classical Feudalism have been kept. The Guildmaster as well as all those who have proven their worth in the guild and reached higher ranks deserve respect and trust.
The Guildmaster also collects money from time to time (whatever you can give is fine) for 'guild purposes'. It does not have to be much. The gesture in itself counts. The Guildmaster dedicates his own chest mainly to guild interests. He differentiates his own money, which he always keeps on himself, from 'Guild Money', the sum of all donations, which he keeps in his chest. Thus, the Guildmaster’s chest is the guild’s bank in a sense. Each member gives to the guild because the guild gives to each member. This is how it works.
In exchange for the respect you owe the officers of the guild, they will train you, help you, teach you, equip you, etc…
Nevertheless, though it’s commonly officers' business, it is each member’s duty to help other people to understand the game when they can. Each step of the hierarchical ladder is a community in itself than can help each other. You are allowed to share materials, equipment, dye, but please: There is no buying and selling in this guild. The guild is oriented towards sharing and not personal profit. If you want to sell items for your own, that’s your right, but not to guild members. Go to the City... | |
