| ‘A Page is a Knight’s steward, an apprentice Esquire. They are often used by Knights and Clerics as servants or messengers. They can be sent to go get what their Masters wants in daily life, or to carry an important message from a Vassal to a Nobleman. Though they might run a lot, Pages have the privilege to experience their first contact with Knighthood and the Court doing their duties, thus establishing important contacts for their future…’ (The Wise Words of Merlin, Chapter 1; line 58.)
All Members began and will begin their career in the Guild as Pages. They will be assigned to a Knight tutor, a Cleric tutor, and a Noble supervisor by the Guild Master. As a Page, your duties are:
- Carefully observe the rules of the Guild, learn all you can in humility from your tutors. You can ask questions if you want to…
- Don't boast around and fall into lewd speech or behavior. This is not a guild of Mercenaries. We have etiquette and behave nobly.
- You will learn our on-field codes and the basic rules of Etiquette and Courtesy.
- As a page you will sometimes have the duty to deliver messages or objects to other members of the guild. It is a way to prove to us that you can be efficient. You begin your career as a messenger.
If you are an experienced player and begin as a Page: Welcome to the club… Everyone begins as a page. Consider it as a rite of humbleness, a way to prove that you can be trusted, efficient, and especially…: HUMBLE.
In order to be recognized as a Page, you shall not show the Guild’s cape ever. This is a privilege reserved for those who have achieved the rank of Sir / Damsel. Also, when addressing to your Tutors, a Noble, The King or the Grandmaster, you have to hide whatever type of armor it is you have on your head or face. That's basic courtesy. Finally, this guild has a recognizable code of colors to recognize specific ranks. We do not ask you to dye completely your armor again - especially if it is dyed with expensive colors - but please go and buy an extra cheap armor that suits you and either keep it grey or dye it in full brown. This is the outfit you will wear before you enter Camelot - The Hall- in order to demark yourself as still a student of ours. A nice way to make it look real in terms of role play - though you're not obliged to - is not to wear gloves and/or boots, especially if you want to make your character come from poor conditions. | |
